Here’s a photo for the Inlander of Whitworth University students Catalina Corvalan, left, and Sara Trujillo, in Spokane, WA, who are both members of the Spokane Dream Project, which advocates for undocumented students. Corvalan is covered under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects some undocumented immigrants from deportation. President Trump recently ended the program and called on Congress to take legislative action. https://www.inlander.com/spokane/the-right-to-have-a-home/Content?oid=6002220

Here’s a photo for the Inlander of student Tanya Koval, a refugee from Ukraine, at the Spokane College of English Language for a story about English language programs for recent immigrants, refugees and international students. Both the Spokane College of English Language and Spokane Community College, which teaches a majority of refugee students in Spokane, use different methods to teach the English language. But, both schools have a goal of helping students not only learn the English language to help them adapt to life in the United States, find jobs, and support themselves and their families. http://www.inlander.com/spokane/opening-new-doors/Content?oid=2804783
